Towards an Edu-Metaverse of Knowledge: Immersive Exploration of University Courses

Metaverse, an alternative universe for play, work and interaction, has become a captivating topic academia industry in recent times. This opens the question on what metaverse education, or edu-metaverse, should look like. It is believed that this learning be grounded by pedagogical theory. Particularly, we propose constructivist theory with eight actionable principles to guide edu-metaverse its applications. With theory, further framework edu-metaverse; it essentially walkable yellow pages connect knowledge. The core idea combine structure of knowledge graphs immersion virtual reality order facilitate association, exploration engagement learning. Our current prototype vision, K-Cube VR, also presented. We have tested VR introduction course topics our students results indicate benefits providing focused environment structured course, akin mind map. Overall, paper, present design rooted pedagogy already shows promising from pilot user study via prototype.
